#225: Untold Interactive Tales of the Lair Legion: Dangerous Paths

Shimmering no more than five feet from the sheer wall of the basin was a strange rainbow band that twisted and spiralled upon itself like some wild fractal computer graphic. The whole effect was no more than four feet across, but every now and then it pulsed much larger, and it was those bright flashes that had attracted the Legion’s attention.

“What is it to be?” Yo wondered as the LairJet nosed down to hover nearby.

“Well this sensor junk doesn’t help at all,” Trickshot admitted. “We’d be better off just throwin’ the computer at it.”

“It’s kind of funky,” CSFB! grinned. “I want one.”

“Does anyone else feel it’s watching us?” asked Uhunalura.

“Is it some kind of dimensional anomaly?” speculated Hatman. “Shoggoth, what do you make of it?”

“Make of what?” the Manga Shoggoth bubbled. “What are you all talking about? There’s nothing there.”

Then the rainbow shape burst outwards again, brighter and larger than ever, enveloping the LairJet in its spectrum hues.

When the rainbow knot returned to regular size, the LairJet and everyone in it was gone.
