“What happened?” Trickshot groaned. He blinked and dragged himself off the thick lush undergrowth he’d been lying in. “Where are we?”

The other heroes pulled themselves up too. They found themselves on the edge of a jungle, with a placid blue lake behind them.

“That rainbow thing was some kind of teleporter,” Hatman declared triumphantly.

“I really, really want one,” CSFB! declared.

“I did not see anything,” the Manga Shoggoth rumbled. “This is somewhat embarrassing.”

“Or a clue,” said Uhuna.

Just then the skyline to the north was momentarily lit by another rainbow flash. “And there’s another clue over there,” Hatman noted dryly.

Trickshot looked down the waterline and spotted a cluster of broken trees where something large had forced a pathway away from the lake. “And what about that?” he wondered. “What sort of thing makes a path like that?”
