Subject: Future of the Parodyverse Plot Consultation: The LL Line-Up Changeth


We’re now only a couple of chapters away from the end of the Parody War, so I need to decide how things end, and specifically I need to set things up for how the Parodyverse and the Lair Legion will be afterwards.

Things have moved on in real life and in characters’ storylines since the Parody War began (in UT#251 or #275 depending on how you count it) and we’ll need a new LL line-up and possibly some new supporting cast.

Generally with LL membership I’ve worked on the following rules:

1. Members must be a poster-character (i.e. a principle character written by a poster, preferably also featuring in their own stories);

2. One member per poster (the exception is where the poster has permanently written out a previous character);

3. The character needs to have appeared in at least three poster-written chapters or one complete storyline, whichever is greater (so the rest of us get an idea how to write the character properly);

4. The character needs to have a personality and powers that bring something to the group dynamic (and not duplicate another member’s abilities or be so awesome as to solve every possible problem by themselves).

5. Preference (for membership and how much screen-time they get as members) is given to characters of current posters.

However, if people feel strongly that the rules should change – say to allow two characters from the same poster, or to allow non-poster characters like Anvil Man to join - we may have to consider it.

One thing that will happen at the end of the Parody War is that some characters will be “lost” – displaced permanently or temporarily to “happy endings”. I think we need to clear the dead wood again so we can have a new growth.

Anyway, I’ll be basing what happens at the end of the Parody War and what the LL line-up thereafter looks like on responses to the following questions. Even lack of response helps me to determine what to do – I’m working this time from the starting point that unless people ask to be in they’re not. Responses are also welcome from folks who aren’t currently writing PV stories.
