#225: Untold Interactive Tales of the Lair Legion: Dangerous Paths
|
No more than ten miles from the perimeter of the great new basin was a long blue lake surrounded by lush forestation. It showed none of the signs of destruction that had been so evident elsewhere, even hundreds of miles from the epicentre. It looked idyllic. “I should have brought my bikini,” Uhuna sighed. “Yeah,” agreed Trickshot. “This makes no sense,” Hatman frowned as he brought the LairJet low over the waters and set it to hover mode. “How could this area have avoided damage when…?” Yo interrupted him. “Can anyone be to be hearing singing?” “Singing?” CSFB! strained to hear. “Oh yeah, a kind of sad haunting melody.” “I am not perceiving anything,” the Manga Shoggoth noted. “Except that the walls of this aircraft are becoming transparent. Interesting.” It was true. The LairJet was becoming insubstantial. “Holy Invisible Woman!” CSFB! gasped. Then the whole aircraft vanished, dropping its occupants into the crystal lake. “I stand corrected,” the wired wonder declared as he resurfaced. “Holy Vision!” “What was that?” Trickshot demanded. “What the hell caused that to happen?” Original concepts, characters, and situations copyright © 2005 reserved by Ian Watson.
