The city was teaming with people.
It was very much like any other third world city. Dirt roads filled with many beggars, soldiers and poor downtrodden locals.
Two robed figures, one short and one impossibly tall, pushed their way towards the train.
“All aboard for Alexandria! All aboard for Alexandria!”
The short man turned to the larger one. Their faces were obscured behind their hoods. “Are you sure you’ll be alright Eli?”
“Yes.” The larger one replied. “I will be fine friend Jasper. You just do what you must do.”
The smaller one was deeply concerned as he watched two soldiers walk through the train station. The soldiers hadn’t noticed the two men but Jasper did not want to take any chances.
“I don’t like leaving you here. Maybe I should stay. Ka Chu’s forces are everywhere! He owns the entire country. We still don’t know his agenda.”
“Your friend Trickshot said he needed the team together. You know how hard things are all over, especially in the West. He needs you Jasper. One of us must stay here to keep an eye on Ka Chu. You go. I will be fine.”
Jasper looked at his large friend. Ever since the Crisis ended they had been constant companions on this journey. The Elemental creature known only as Eli had agreed to join Jasper on his search for their missing teammate.
Now they were separating.
“Alright pal. You take care. Keep your tracks clean and watch Ka Chu’s moves. If he does anything worth notice, call me. I’ll be at the Lair mansion.”
“Last call for Alexandria! All aboard for Alexandria!”
“I will. Now go!”
Jasper Stevens boarded the train outward bound from Cairo. After he had gotten his seat he watched as his former teammate disappeared in the distance.
It felt like so long ago since that horrible Crisis had ended. So long ago since she had died. At least that was what everyone thought had happened to her but he believed differently. He was so sure that he traveled the world searching for her while her brother and the others had given up.
He had never found her in his quiet travels and if it were up to him he would continue.
But things were very bad back home. People are forced to betray their friends, heroes are threatened and killed while others like his friend Amazing Guy have vanished all together.
It was time to return to Parodopolis.
It was time for Kid Produce to return.
