There are three constants in life
1.
We are all dieing
2.
Gravity pulls you down
3.
Your heart keep you bound

No matter what you to do, how you plan to get there, one thing remains “You will die.” How you arrive at your final resting stop is another story and is not the point to life the journey.

______________________________________

I’ve been walking this dead end street for what seems an eternity. Each day I wake, I open my eyes to the same room. It has become my cage. My life stories are painted on the walls. I see my hand in everything around. It is a place that I own, and yet it seems almost foreign.

I walk down the streets trying to be a chameleon. If no one notices my presence it is a happy day. Then I can sit and watch the world before me.

My destination is “unknown” and yet I always arrive at the same place.

I hail a cab, trying to not think about the musty stench that corrupts the air as I open the door.

“Planet Xynlone, Please.” My place of sanctuary is found only there.

The cab driver looks at me peculiarly.

“Oh sorry, 512 Hubert and Main, Please.”

The driver bolts out into the lane like a lunatic escaping from a mental institution. I bite down and try to act calmly.

I stare blankly ahead. A stoplight turns red. Great another moment in these revolting surroundings.

The 30ish, overweight, lost in his little league years taxi driver peers back. “Hey there, I’m thinking of taking a trip to the wilderness. What to come along and get down and dirty.”

I roll my eyes, throw a five down the slot, and bolt out of the cab. Some people.

Oh a five block walk for me. Joy.

I walk down the street. Entertaining myself by deducing what the person walking past is thinking. A few times I turn on my telepathic abilities even though I know that it is forbidden to use my skills on this planet, but it’s not like it takes much anyways. Most people are rather predictable.

Oh yes, here we are the gateway to Hell. The Smarkson Building of Industrial Technologies. I spot a phone booth nearby and immediately go in it, quickly deposing the exterior clothing. I initiate invisibility.

I get out of the booth and begin to make my way to the revolving door, in order to be safe I decide that I will wait until someone exits or enters. After a few minutes, finally my chance arrives and I slide through the revolving doors as a middle-aged man exits. I survey my surroundings and find that the security guard seems more interested in what looks to be a Vogue magazine than paying attention to the entrance so my efforts were wasted. Now that is some good literature.

I shake my head in disgust and continue.

I measure my energy, a quarter of it is gone. I should relax it uses more energy when I am flustered. Regardless I don’t have time, so I start to head to the elevators.

While waiting for the elevator to arrive, I took a brief moment to remember the analysis of the building architectural integrity. I conclude that I need to go to the 23rd floor. Finally it arrived, I go inside the elevator and find that it only went to the 19th floor, so 19 it is.

My stomach turns as the mass started to propel its way up. The cage bounces to and fro. You would think that they could afford a building with decent elevators. I begin wonder if I was in an elevator or on a fair ride. The door finally stammers open.

I spot a restroom half way down the hall and notice that I should recharge. Only half of my energy is used, but some intense meditation would do wonders.

The 19th floor seemed rather unused. No one was in the bathroom, thankfully.

I locked the door and released my grip onto the deterior world. I stumbled to the sink. I don’t know what is wrong with me. I usually could do this in my sleep. I looked into the mirror and wondered if it is was myself staring back at me or some facade.

I look down, at this indecent world. Couldn’t they at least use carpet, but no that was unheard of. When you walked into a house it was like walking into a panel of steel and glass. Nothing could be hidden; all was left spotless to mirror the imperfections of a faultless society. Such a paradox and yet what difference did it really matter.

I missed home. I breath in slowly and roll my head back trying to focus, my neck slowly adjusts back into an upright position and I again try and see my true self. I sigh, as my void cerulean eyes focus on my matt of hair all honey and bronze in color. I tuck my hybrid locks behind my ears and turn away.

I collapse in a half lotus position and start the descent. Or was it an ascent. Time would tell, I guess.

My mind instantly wondered to my home. I tried to remember every corner of my domain. Usually, on a summer day like this one, I would have journeyed to the Kaskinay Waterfall and bath in the lucent, cascading waters. However, today even with that peaceful thought, I concluded that I would just sit at home and do nothing. I didn’t desire to do anything, but see his face. Even the Kaskinay couldn’t wash away the haze.

I feel gravity weighting down my shoulders, the realization makes my flow unsteady and thus making me be ebbed out of my meditation. I wonder what he is doing.

I breath in deeply. Soon. Oh so soon. I want to be held in your arms.

I begin to try to contact him telepathically, but the mesh gets in the way. I could only feel his heart. His heart starts to bound excitedly, I know that he has felt my contact. However, I could also feel the distress that I am causing him. Longing. I send a signal that will make him stop in his tracks.

My shoulders ached wanting his embrace. The massage would at least let him know I am thinking about him and that I am alive.

I close my eyes and try to focus on the task at hand.

I pull out my relaxor cream and apply a little of the goop to my neck. Maybe that will help.

“Concentrate on your breathing. Just breath. “ How many times have I told myself this and yet it still seems the hardest task. Finally I get into a deep meditation and the energy starts to rejuvenate.

A picture is at the end of the path, it is a picture that is unfinished. Waiting for me to complete it. All the pictures of my life. That girl in the red dress. I am running, but from what.

My mind clears and I go back to reality or rather a diffused version of it. I feel slightly refreshed and think I can at least make it through this assignment.

I stand up and look at myself in the mirror. I splash some water on my face and towel it dry. The brown paper seems to melt in my hands. Filaments stick to my face and hands. I felt more clean before. I vent my frustrations by winding the remaining fibers in a mush similar to cream of wheat. I mold it into a Z and toss it into the garbage. I, then, alter my phase into delusional space and walk out the door.

I survey the area and find another elevator. This one is state of the art. I go to it and insert an identifier ,supplied to me, and the elevator arrives. I guess they thought that security cameras were unneeded with the high tech security system. Fools. I pressed the button for floor 23.

In seconds the door opened. There were a few scientist shuffling about the room, but as far as I could tell no one noticed my entrance or rather the elevator “peculiar” behavior. I visualize the floor structure and start my journey.

Right. Left. Butterfly. Butterfly. And I arrived in to the holding area, my little treasure chest.

I check my energy. One-fifth down, should be plenty left.

I pull out the bag and insert the netra field equalizer and the dibitzer.

Now all that I have left is the escape. I start back the way I came and noticed a large conference room. It has quite a collection of people, I could tell that the informants must be meeting with the big wigs. I thought for a second that possibly I should stay, but I decided I wouldn’t press my luck. If I drained all my energy it would be very costly to restore, most costly to myself.

I head for the elevator. Two scientists, with rats in cages which seemed to have electrodes placed on them, were bickering about the test results that they had just received. Neither were very happy and they were beginning to make me very frustrated, because they seemed to dance around the elevator mentally accosting the other of swaying their data.

I scan the room and notice an open window. I decide that it is the best escape. I go to the edge and look down. Then I peered up. I don’t care what Frerious told me I am going to ride my spaceship back. I suction the clasps in my pack to the wall and slowly start the climb.

I reach the top and lift myself over the ledge. I glanced around. This high up people could only see me as a bug. I go back to reality and signal my ship. It sent a message that it would arrive in ten minutes. More lag time. Joy. I sat against the cold cement walls and waited. My hands felt repulsive. I rub them together making the fibers, left from the towel, slowly erode away. I just sat there and starred at the sky, wondering how I would free myself of this bondage.

My ship arrived and I purred at it in relief. I got in and my Roboti offered me some hot coco. I messed up its spiral hair showing my gratitude and then it went back to it’s quarters, leaving me alone.

“Computer to the den.”

Part 2

I fall onto the couch, weary from the day’s excursion. My eyes lids quiver from the weight of gravity. I can’t seem to keep them open and quickly fall to sleep.

My mind drifts off into the Kaskinay. I visualize myself laying at the edge of the waters twirling my fingers in it. I transcend into my body and feel the warmth of the water and air bubbles floating upward tickling my fingers.

I look around and find no one.

I strip off my clothes and unveil my frogsuit (green bikini). I slowly submerge myself in the water, dancing about, savoring the moment. The feeling is indescribable, I find myself laughing in childish delight.

The sensation begins to lessen and I am become more aware of my surroundings. I feel someone’s presence. I scan the surroundings trying to find the culprit. I notice a tuff of thick brown hair disappear as someone tries to hide behind a tree. He peeks around and knows that he has been caught making him turn red. I smile and come out of the water. He ducks back behind the tree and I hear him scurrying off. I follow him, pushing my way through the foliage. I seem to get lost in the jungle of leaves and branches. I stop and try to get a clue where he went to, after a long moment of silence; I continue to make my way through the brush. I see an opening ahead and decide it would best to go in that direction. I step out into the sand and find that I exited at the same place as I had entered. As I wonder about this peculiarity, I feel his fingers tickling my sides and I gasp in surprise. His arms go around me and he hugs me close. I feel his breath on my face and a soft kiss on my cheek. I wake.

I look about the room, hoping he is here. There is no one. I feel incredibly alone and curl up it into a ball, whimpering. I should stop doing this to myself. I stare at a blank wall, trying to come back to reality.

Lyrics from my songs start to come into my mind. The songs become jumble together. Pieces of them disappear and others take their place. For a time it becomes one song, the words are pieces of me forming into a whole.

I thank you
You saved me
Brought me to reality
Made it kind enough
That I didn’t have to hide so much
You made my day kind
Brought a smile
Lifted my mind
Made me see the light
Helped me make it through the night
Thank You

If I ever get confused
If I ever get lost
Please help me
Let me know your there
At least show me you care
Tell me the truth
Be brutally honest
Sometimes the truth hurts
But it’s better than living a lie

I dream
For something/someone to take me away
Those dreams keep me alive
Yet they confuse me

They tell me my wants
They tell me my desire
I know they are not possible
So why am I disillusioned

Reality is unkind
But sometimes it makes
You see the light
And leave the past behind

I shake myself out of the trance and look at the clock. 20:00. I was supposed to be there an hour ago. I quickly grab the bag, open the hatch, and exit into the den. The den is strangely quiet. No one is around. I go to the entrance and place my face in the scanner. The doors open. I continue down the barren halls. The iridescent light reflects off the metal paneling making it seem like the hall is glowing. I turn right in the second to last opening and open the third door. Frerious was waiting with a couple his informants, his eyes full of hatred.

“What took you so long?”

“I…..uh…..ran into some complications.”

“I’ve been waiting for an hour.”

“It couldn’t be helped.”

I hear tapping on the ceiling and feel the presence of others. We are being watched. I try not to show any sign that something seems out of place.

“Did you get the items?”

“Yes.” I hand him the bag.

I see the ceiling tile move up a little. Frerious is so fascinated with his new toys that he doesn’t notice. The ceiling tile flies away and five figures enter. Frerious look up at me incredulously.

“Ziles what have you done.”

The figures surround us.

“I have done nothing.”

A masked figure drops a vial. Purple mist fills the air. I feel myself falling. All goes black.

Part 3

Icarus Innovations' med-bay 11:00 the next morning.
________________________________________________

My eyes flash open at the realization that it is morning and that I don’t know where I am. Immediately I close my eyes from the blinding light. I let my eyes focus and then slowly open them to see a smiling dragon.

Finny: “She’s waking doc.”

I am taken back and find myself smiling back, I don’t know why. I look around the room and realize that I am in some type of a medical facility. I see a man in a white coat and assume him to be the doctor.

Dr. William Everett: “Just a minute Finny, I’ll be right there.”

“Where am I?”

Finny: “In the Icarus innovations’ med-bay.”

“How did I get here.”

Finny: “I brought you.”

The doctor makes his way over.

Doc: “Hey sunshine. Looks like the sleeping beauty finally woke up.”

“Why am I here?

Doc: “You passed out. Finny brought you here and I examined you, I found a broken location identifier in your leg and removed it.”

I then notice the throbbing pain in my thigh.

Doc: “It was leaking toxins into your body. You were probably feeling fatigue and having incoherent thoughts in the last few days.”

“Am I fine? Can I go?”

Doc: “You will be like yourself again in a day or two.”

I quickly sit up and get out of bed. I take a step and wince as pain shots through my leg.

“What am I wearing?”

I look down and find myself in a hospital gown. I notice that I was at least afforded to still have on my frogsuit, thank goodness. I toss away the garment.

“Where is my suit?”

The two stare at me in shock. Finny looks a little yellow and pretends not to be staring.

Doc: “They are being washed.”

“Well then, this will have to do. Take me to my ship.”

Doc: “You’re not going anywhere for awhile.”

“Watch me.”

I start to hobble to the door. My leg is asleep or something, yet it aches. After the third step, I gasp as the numbing feeling lessens and the pain sears. I breath in deeply.

Doc: “Finny go get her.”

Finny walks over to me and picks me up. I decide not to fight being it would be useless and just curl up into his arms. He takes me back to bed and lays me in it, tucking me into the covers.

Doc: “Finny you keep an eye on her and don’t let her get out of bed again. She is more stubborn then I thought.”

I feel Finny stoke my hair and I drift off to sleep.

I wake and find it is late afternoon. I sit up and see a collection of people.

Finny: “I’m not going to wake her up just to answer your questions.”

“I’m awake.”

They turn around and look at me.

Dark Knight: “So it seems”

I see the speaker’s masked face and the image of the moment before I blanked out flashes in my mind.

“You are the man who dropped the vial.”

Dark Knight: “This is so. What were you doing at Frerious’ headquarters.”

“I was following orders.”

Dark Knight: “Are you the enemy.”

“That all depends on your prospective now doesn’t it. If you mean that my heart was corrupted into his ideas, then NO. I was a prisoner, it seems more than I originally thought.”

I rub my leg and turn my face to hide the shame.

Dark Knight: “So, what will you do now? Frerious is under custody. You are free.”

“I…….I…….don’t know.”

Finny gets all excited: “She could join us.”

Dark Knight looks at him peculiarly: “How could she benefit us?

Finny: “She’s is alien. Xnylonoid to be exact. Can’t you see the diamond symbol on her head band.”

Dark Knight: “I have never saw something like that before. Inform me.”

Finny: “The diamond represent she is of a noble line and that she’s a telepath. All of them can disappear, but not to their own kind. They are restricted by their inner energy source and she is very low because of the trauma. We are compatible peoples.”

Dark Knight looks at me: “Is that so.”

“Yes.”

Dark Knight: “Where did you live? Who was your associates?”

“I…….don’t remember…….I can’t think.”

Finny: “Do you want to join us?”

“I……guess.”

Finny: “So it is settled. The friendly fellow is Dark Knight. Over there are Lisa, Visionary, and Doner.”

The three say: “Welcome.”

Dark Knight stares at Finny and shakes his head, then exits. The three follow. Only the dragon remains.

Part 4

People in our life make a difference whether we want them to or not. Some people you wish you could forget. Some people you know you never want to lose. Those are the ones that keep you alive.

“Why…”

Finny: “Shhh.”

“But…”

Finny: “Just rest for now. All will be revealed in due time.”

“But…”

Finny: “But nothing. Now rest.”

I sigh, obviously I am not going to get any information from him. I wasn’t a child; I knew my limitations.

“Can I at…”

Finny: “Shhh…”

He put his claw on my cheek giving it a gentle stroke. I couldn’t help it and wink at him. He pulls his hand back like lightening had hit him and turns yellow. I turn to my other side to try and hide a little laugh. He is a shy one this will definitely help in the future. Yes it will indeed be useful… I again fall into the black sleep. I wake and find the doctor standing beside me.

“Hello Dr….What did you say your name was.”

Doc: “I didn’t. It seems however you have again awakened. How are you feeling?”

I check my reserves and find that they are rejuvenating. My leg is sensitive, but seems better.

“I’m ready to leave.”

Doc: “Now then, I don’t know about that.”

“I know.”

I get up and put some weight on my leg. It doesn’t ache that much. I limp about the room.

“Where’s my suit?

Doc: “Now common take it easy for awhile. Finny.”

Finny steps out into the light.

“I’m fine. Never felt better. Now can I at least leave for awhile?”

Doc sighs: “It seems you are feeling better, maybe all the toxins got flushed out of your system. As long as Finny goes with you, it is fine I guess.”

“Great I get a babysitter.”

I shake my head in frustration.

“Fine. Now where is my suit.”

Doc: “Oh sorry, it’s right over there.”

I go over and pull on my suit. It is more like a second skin it seems now, it must have shrunk. I bet they used hot water. I get it zipped three-forth of the way up and it stops.

“Dammit.”

I try to pull it up the rest of the way, but it won’t budge.

Finny: “Here let me help.”

He comes over and pulls on the zipper

Finny: “I think it is stuck.”

“um yeah…yah think.”

Finny notices were his paws are and stammers back. He looks down at tries to figure out where to put his hands.

Finny: “Sometimes if you pull it down a little and then back up that works.”

I try this, I pull it down two inches and try to pull it back up.

“That definitely didn’t help now it’s lower then before.”

Finny: “That depends on who you ask…um…Yes you’re right that didn’t work.”

“Well I’m tired of fooling with it. Let’s go.”

I start out the door, the dragon follows.

“Where is my spaceship?”

Finny: “In the landing area.”

“How do we get there?”

Finny: “Follow me.”

After a series of exits we make it to the landing area and I see my ship. I quickly go to it and coo. It opens and I climb aboard. Finny paces outside like he can’t make up his mind about something.

“You can board if you like.”

He comes in looking like a child in a candy store. Roboti comes out and greets me. I scruff up his hair and he dances around me in excitement.

“Yes, I have been gone too long little one. If you go get Chinese checkers I will play.”

Roboti goes into the back to get the game.

“Make yourself comfortable.”

Finny instantly goes to the entertainment system in awe: “We don’t have ones like there here.”

“Indeed.”

Roboti comes back with the game and sets it up. I decide to check the contact system to see if anyone has tried to contact me. No one of importance…..well maybe….

Roboti: “Go. Go. Go.”

“Just a minute.”

Roboti: “Go. Gogoooo”

“Ok. OK.”

I make my move and the game starts.

“Figure it out Finny.”

Finny: “Of course.”

Roboti makes a tricky move, but I quickly counter it and finish it. Roboti starts running around in circles in frustration.

“Oh calm down. Maybe next time you will win.”

Roboti puts up the game.

“All seems fine here, I guess, I can leave.”

Finny: “um yeah….just a minute I must end this.”

“I’m leaving.”

Reluctantly Finny places the equipment back in it’s spot: “Where to?”

“I don’t care as long as it is not back to that room.”

Finny: “I should check-in with Dark Knight and get a briefing on what has been happening.”

“Maybe I should have added somewhere that I would be wanted.”

Finny: “He’s always that way. You’ll get used to his loving ways after awhile.”

Finny starts to the hatch and exits. I follow.

Part 5

The cold air is stale. I can feel the edges slice at my bare skin. My skin goes taunt as it brushes past me trying to steal my breath, or so it seems. Goose bumps arrive and a chill goes down my spine. Yes it is the weather, I tell myself, but somehow this does not convince me. I know something is lurking. I know something is in the darkness. Footsteps, or is it my imagination. I look around, spinning, circling. No one.

Am I myself here, there? Am I real? Am I alive? I feel a hand on my shoulder. I get so excited.

“Is it you? Are you there?”

There is no one. Is it a shadow? Is it a ghost? I see a light in front of me. I start running towards it. I am a child again, running in my red ruffled dress. A lock of hair brushes up against my face. I turn around trying to orient myself. The light, yes the light, I must go to it. A shadow appears in the shape of a man. He is in a black suit, but I can’t see his face. He start coming towards me. I can feel the evil presence. I cry out in terror, one piercing scream. No one hears me; I am alone. I start to run. I run towards the light. I can hear him coming; he is getting closer. The light is so far away. I reach for it and stumble. The man reaches down to steal away my life. I start falling into darkness. I scream and descend into my body. I am curled up on the cold cement. Terrified that I am alive. Wishing I was dead.

Finny looks down at me, not knowing what to do or how to help. I bite back the tears. It feels too good to cry. I don’t deserve that; I won’t allow myself that comfort.

“I…..Th…..There is a gahream among us.”

Finny: “A what?”

“A gahream. They contort your thoughts by catching your dreams/nightmares. Every dream, any thought that you have had can by emplaced in your mind and possibly make you act it out. This particular one is young, so I was able to escape.”

I look around frantically trying to figure out where it is.

“They are not supposed to be on this planet.”

I toss about the garbage cans, searching their contents.

“Are you just going to stand there?”

Finny looks at me confused: “I don…”

“Never mind.”

I snatch the vermin out of the paint bucket that hid him. He pump, devilish face smiles up at me.

“You will be under my command. I am sure you know this.”

Dimonis: “Yes, how my I torment you now.”

His voice etches lines of distress in my mind. I clamp his mouth shut.

“You had better watch yourself.”

Finny: “I un…”

“Lets go. He will be dealt with later.”

Finny turns and uneasily starts back down the street making sure that I am standing. I follow.

“Why didn’t I feel pain…”

“He wants my jewel.” I dangle the gem on my forehead with my finger. “It is a curse that I can not rid myself of, only in death can it be removed. It identifies my status and these creatures find great pleasure in trying to conquer it. If they succeed they become very powerful. I have power in which they never can obtain, even with a jewel they are limited, therefore they despise me. I am an enigma they endlessly try to unravel.”

“Isn’t that Dark Night.”

Finny: “Yes we are in GothaMetropolis York. I thought he might be patrolling these parts.”

Dark Night: “I see you still have the fly buzzing around your wings.”

“Nice to see you too.”

I look at The Night and for the first time see something in the eyes. He is hiding something, leaving something from his past in his mind that constantly torments him. I see the wall of emotional baggage; years of hatred, anger, grief, depression, longing, and masochistic tendencies. How could anyone live with this much pain? I become entangled in the web; I gasp as the weight of it all tries to rip my heart from my chest. I step back to get some air. The two look at me curiously, I smile and they continue in their conversation. I can’t stand it anymore and hug him. He pulls back in shock, then makes a small gesture of warmth by returning a light pat on my back. He cocks his head in consideration and I see a hint of fear.

I whisper: “Just let it go, life is Hell.”

Dark Night: “Uh, anyways….” He looks at Finny desperately to say something.

Dimonis squirms under my arm.

“I need to find a mage. Know of any?”

Finny: “There is Xander the Improbable.”

“I need to see him. You done here?”

Finny says a few works to The Night and then he disappears into the streets of gloom.

“I first have to get something from my ship.”

We make our way back to the ship. I go to the back and pull of the book of glyphs. I didn’t think I’d ever need it again after I left, but I guess something just haunt you. I dust it of and see the print glow. I quickly remove my eyes.

“Ok, I found it.”

We exited the ship and walked a ways to come upon a shop of odd variety. The faded sign reads: Xander the Improbable, Master of the Mystic Crafts. The card hanging in the window said, "The magician is in."

“Magician? Hate to break it to you but I need a real mage.”

Finny: “Well, some say he has powers.”

We walk in and he appears.

“I need the services of a mage.”

I hand him the book. He looks at in awe.

Xander: “I’ve never saw something like this. The light is dingy in here lets go out back.”

We go to a marshy area; it has a small pond filled with frogs.

Xander: “What exactly do you need.”

“This is a gahream.” I hold out the worm. “I need you to make him take the vows of servitude.”

Xander opens the book and light erupts from the pages. The glow dimmers and he starts to trace the lines.

“No……”

Xander: “I am having problems reading these characters.”

He looks up and seems like something is wrong.

Xander: “Finny where did she go.”

Finny was in a daze and shakes himself awake: “I never saw a thing.”

Dimonis is beside me now very large. I try to speak.

“Rrrrrrrbbbbbbbiiiitt”

No, this can’t be happening. I try again.

”Gggggggrrrrrrriiiiibbbbittttttt”

Dimonis sees his chance and bounds off. Xander tries to stop him but falls, falling over. He looks straight into my eyes.

Xander: “This is a strange frog. It’s kind of cute. Peculiar blue eyes.” He shrugs and looks around trying to find me.

I’m right here….

Part 6

Xander gets up and brushes himself off. “Well we had better find her.”

The book is flailed on the ground, he picks up the book, puts it to under his arm. “I’ll have to try and figure this out later.”

The two search about.

Finny: “I think she musta disappeared.”

Xander: “That might be the case.”

Finny: “But where would she go and just like that.”

The books glows once more.

Xander: “I’m not sure, but I think this book must have something to do with it. I better go look at it more carefully. You look for her.”

Xander goes into his shop and Finny continues the search.

Couple hours later.

Finny walks into the shop to find Xander engrossed in the book. “I’ve search the whole parameter and nothing.”

Xander doesn’t take his yes off the page. “um hum” He waves him silent. “Yes that is it.”

Finny: “What?”

Xander: “The CURE!”

Finny: “What? What?”

Xander still engrossed in the book. “Indeed I should have known.”

Finny more impatient: “WHAT?”

Xander: “Oh she’s a frog, my lad, and it seems one of us must be a prince.”

The color vanishes from Finny’s cheeks. “What do you mean exactly?”

I traced the letters unknowingly and produced a spell on the princess to make her a frog. “Those eyes, that must me her.”

Finny still stands there in confusion as Xander hurriedly makes his way to the pond. He shakes his head in bewilderment and follows the mage out.

Xander starts to pick up the frogs one by one: “Help me boy.”

Finny “But…”

Xander “Blue eyes….blue eyes.”

The two crawl about in the lily pads. I hop over and finally Finny picks me up.

Finny: “I found her.”

Xander: “Good, good now kiss her.”

Finny gasps “WHA..”

Xander: “Kiss her and she will be back just like before.”

I feel myself falling, then splash back into the water, looking up to see a frozen Finny.

Xander: “Come now, you’ve got the tongue for it.”

Finny gulps: “But….”

Xander: “But nothing.” He hands me up to him placing me in his paws.”

Finny gets a sour expression and pecks the top of my head.

Xander: “That didn’t work. Try again…”

Finny takes a breath and kisses me. I feel myself growing and my skin becoming silky again.

Xander coughs: “Ok, you two can stop now.”

Once again I fall to the ground. Finny stands in shock or a daze, I couldn’t really tell. Xander helps me to my feet. “Thanks Xander. I had my doubts, but you figured it out.” I give him a hug. I look over at Finny and he quickly diverts his eyes.

Xander: “Now then, let’s celebrate!”

He leads me back to the shop. Finny shakes himself out of it and timidly follows us.

“Where’d the gahream go?”

I of course know the answer, but I had to ask. I hope the next encounter will not be as eventful.

The End For Now.

Part 7

*Mix of stories of the after*
Finny's Bedroom
Foom: "ACK! What are you doing here?"
Ziles sleepily: "I'm tired, but can't sleep."
Foom: "Well take a pill or something."
Ziles: "Pills are bad and i'll still be lonely."
Foom somewhat softer because of how pathetic Ziles looked: "You could put on some music of something."
Ziles ignors his advice and crawls into the big bed and instantly falls asleep.
Foom doesn't know what to do and grumbles about people getting ideas and blowing it way out of proportion.
Ziles rolls around till she finds a pillow(aka Foom) and puts her arms around him.
Foom turns red and doesn't know what to do, but decides not to disturb her. He places his paws around her to comfort her and then falls asleep.
The Next Morning
Ziles feel sunlight on her face and stirs. She notices she isn't alone and opens her eyes with a jolt, blinding her temporarily. Finny awakes from the movement and gasps "Wha?...I..." then remembers and gets nervous. Ziles adjust to the light and smiles at him. Her eyes go darker blue and she winces in pain "Keimusho......i better go."
Foom: "What's wrong."
A tear falls from Ziles' left eye but she fights back a sob and just shakes her head. "I must go."
Finny doesn't know what she is hiding or how he can help. He tryies to stop her from heading out the door holding her in his arms.
She looks up at him and say "This is not your battle."
He doesn't know what to say but knows he can not stop her. His places a kiss on her forehead. They are both shocked. Ziles tries to give him a smile, slips out of his grasp and disappears out the door.
The Flight (I just don't give up or i do one or the other)
Ziles falls out of the door and everything becomes black. She opens her eyes and stretches as the sunlight hits her face. She reaches for something/someone, but to her surprise finds no one/nothing. She feels the common metal of the bunk under her. "Roboti"
He comes from around the corner as usual. "Was I dreamin lil guy?"
Roboti swirls around me: "di....cover....dig....preee"
Ziles pats him on the head and shakes herself out of the haze. She opens the door and slides out into the warehouse. She can sense someone in the shadows, but can't see them. She goes invisible and scurries out the back door. What day is it? As she makes her way out of the alley she again appears as to conserve her energy. She realizes that she had better get to the LL mansion and report in. As she walks down the street images start to fade in and out. A bum gets in her face and disolves into the phone pole. The street doesn't seem solid, life doesn't seem real. All that she can remember is a smell of sweet bara. She trips over nothing and falls to the floor, a man put his arm down to help her and his hand turns into vine and then fades into nothingness. She stumbles back in repulse. As if in a daze she rises and heads towards the mansion. Another man passes her and looks at her with menacing eyes, keimusho......where had she heard that before. Finally the entrance appears and she enters.
Exile: "You don't look too good."
Ziles half smiles and stumbles around searching for something/nothing.
DK: "Is she going to pass out."
Finny looks at her with concern and she seems to expect something more but nothing "you can go with nats to make deliveries today.
Ziles: "I have something i must do. Somewhere i must go. Someone i must see."
Exile: "Yes, I think you need to see a doctor."
Ziles: "Doctors can't help me."
She exits and wonders if she will return.
The Escape
The door desolves and the world becomes dark.
The floor becomes smashed against her face.
The jolt makes her come back to reality long enough to send a message to roboti for immediate flight to Xnylone. The ship is there in seconds and she is once again on the hard metal of her bed. Sleep steals her mind and it goes numb.
----------------
back at the mansion things just get odder
Finny: "Did Ziles just say she was leaving?"
Exile: "So it seems."
Finny: "Did she say how long?"
DK: "No."
Exile: "She didn't look good."
Finny: "She stared at me odd, expectantly."
DK: "You're just a pimp daddy."
Finny fuming: "I am not."
Lania walks in.
DK: "I rest my case."
Lania: "Did I miss something."
Exile snickers: "I should leave you two alone."
Finny gets red: "That's enough you two, there is nothing going on here."
Lania: "DK you look handsome today."
DK: "I am not."
Lania: "In a sinister way of course, you know my number ;)"
Finny gasping: "Um."
DK: "I should go hide now."
Sorc and Hattie walk in all smoochkins like.
Finny: “Oh I see it now DK and Lania.”
DK: “Do I need to pry your liver out of your body and eat it.”
Lania: “Yes that is a nice idea.”
DK going purple.
HH comes in: “How may I make your life miserable.”
-------------
Ziles wakes up in her ship and can tell that it is no longer moving. Her head is pulsing from the earlier impact. She needs Ekitai desperately. She opens the latch and smiles at the familiar purple light that envelopes her. She takes a deep breath in taking in all of the warmth and light. She can feel her energy start to regenerate. She is so happy that she sings the song of her homeland.
Stream of beauty
River of Love
Mind unwavering
Envisioned as one...
She trails off and descends down the path to the taki. The rushing water became visible and the mist formed dew on her skin. She stripped and submerged herself into the water. The airy water tickles her skin and she sighed happily. Of all the things she missed it was this spot, so fresh and pure, full of color and warmth. She went under the waterfall into Ekitai’s chamber.
Ekitai: “Little one you should not be here.”
Ziles: “I need your help.”
Ekitai: “You know your parents has forbidden me to train you any longer.”
Ziles: “Eki you know I would not come unless I could not survive any other way. Something is wrong. I do not know what.”
Ekitai walks over to her and places the palm of his hand on her forehead: “Your inner life is dieing. The toxins in your body are making you weak.” He opens the skin on her side and takes out a broken tracking device; the skin goes back tight, unscarred.
Ziles is infuriated knowing that they did this to her, she may have escaped them and joined the LL, but they would always be a scar to her mentally if not physically. She felt her life energy reviving from its sleep; she throws her head back and lets out a scream. The water on her turns to ice and she trembles to the floor.
Ekitai reaches down and makes her rise: “Do not be weak, do not fear.”
He gives her a pouch and motions for her to drink it. She does so and warmth fills her body.
Ziles kneels at his feet in respect: “Thank you.”
Ekitai places his hands on her head and makes her rise: “You should go.”
Ziles: “I know, I should not have come but I did not know who else I could come to. You are the only one I trust here.”
Ziles heads to the exit.
Ekitai: “When are you going to stop running.”
Ziles look backs and sighs: “I don’t know.”
